FAQ

How do I become a volunteer?

Has the Lord given you a heart for Children? Great! We would love for you to join our team. The first step is filling out our application. I know we ask lots of information, but it is important to us that we are certain the people we have teaching our precious kids are men and women of God who will love them the way Jesus loves them. After your application has been reviewed, you will have an interview with Hayley Kopeny. The final step is to get a background check and finger printed. The company we have contracted to do this is just down the street and it only takes a few minutes.

What are we looking for in a volunteer?

If you have been saved and want to share the love of the Lord with kids, we want you on our team. It is our desire that every kid who walks into our church would know God’s love and to know we love them.

What is expected of me as a volunteer?

We are a large ministry that has many working parts. Each volunteer has a vital role in helping Adventure Kids function and run properly. In order for us to implement our mission, we need to be able to rely on our volunteers. We are not asking for you to be at every service or event, however, we do need our volunteers to be part of whatever they commit to. For us, this doesn’t look like just showing up to fill a gap. This looks like showing up, being present with the kids, engaging them and doing the responsibilities specific to your role that you know of. We would never expect you to do something you haven’t agreed to. We are big on communication here and always have an open door for questions, feedback, and suggestions for improvement.

What does the commitment look like?

That is entirely up to you. We know life is busy. If you are able to commit to every week, biweekly, or once a month, we have a place for you. All we ask is that you are dedicated to the schedule you request.

What do I do if I can’t volunteer on a certain day?

Don’t worry, we have a list of people who serve for this very purpose and would love to fill in for you. We ask that, if possible, you notify your leader or the staff at least 2 weeks in advance to allow our substitutes to plan for service. If there is a last minute emergency, please notify your leader or staff member as soon as possible.

Where will I volunteer?

Whichever group of kids you feel called to work with, we will place you there. It is our desire that you use the gifts and desires the Lord has given you to the benefit of our kids and to grow your faith.

We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith;  if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully. Romans 12:6-8

What are the benefits of volunteering?

Working with Adventure Kids will bless you in ways you never thought possible. The kids will make you laugh, touch your heart, and make you grow in your faith as you see the wonder of the Lord through their eyes. And, on top of that, we have a variety of unlimited snacks and bottomless coffee to help you stay fueled for service.
